Stephen C. Dominiak, executive vice president and chief investment officer (CIO), joined BRE in September 2008. As CIO, Dominiak is responsible for all investment-related activities, including investment policies, asset allocation guidelines, underwriting, and compliance and risk procedures.

Over his 20-year career in real estate, Dominiak has played a leadership role in the acquisition, renovation, development and construction of 13,000 multifamily units with a total cost of more than $3.0 billion. Prior to BRE, Dominiak was divisional president and managing partner at JPI's western division.

Dominiak received an M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine, and both a master's degree in city and regional planning and a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Texas, Arlington.

Dominiak is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the National Multi Housing Council.
